What is GroundWork Monitor Open Source?

GroundWork Monitor Open Source is a free, easy-to-use monitoring solution aimed at mid-sized businesses with basic, but critical, monitoring requirements. With real time status views, historic trend reporting and a sophisticated alerting system, GroundWork Monitor Open Source allows system administrators to proactively manage and control their IT infrastructure so they can significantly improve uptime, and quickly identify issues and causes before they affect performance.

GroundWork Monitor Open Source integrates third-party open source software and GroundWork open source software that you may use and distribute freely, under the terms of the various public licenses listed in the release notes of the package. Some of the main elements are:

  • Nagios® plugins – A set of small elemental programs designed to monitor availability and performance of network devices, servers, and applications.
  • GroundWork Guava – A PHP application portal framework

  • GroundWork Monitor Architect (aka MonArch)– An open source, web-based, configuration tool for Nagios®
