|
|
I am lost on configuring services.
I am actually trying to remove the default four:
Current Load
Current Users
Host_Alive
PING
Root Partition
I only want to use ping at the moment to monitor my nodes. Yet I can not find where in the services template they are listed. And if I remove them from the host configuration manually, the services stay listed as being monitored in the status view.
The bookshelf docs are not complete. And I am not understanding how to add/remove services from existing hosts.
Is there a how-to for dummies for GWOS? |

The error is not yours, it's ours. There is a bug that is preventing synchronization of services for changes to existing hosts. To get around this bug for now, create a new host, or rename the host. After you commit to Nagios, run the script "/usr/local/groundwork/feeder/nagios2db_hostgroupcheck.pl".
This will be fixed in our next release, which should be available next week. |

Thanks for the input Peter.
Sorry for the above tone (I just reread my post), frustration got the better of me.
Will the next release be bug fix or features based? |

No problem. I understand how it feels when the tools don't work the way they should. The next release will contain a lot of bug fixes and a few new features. We are testing it now and it should be ready soon.
One new feature that may be of interest is an additional configuration tool that has some autodiscovery features using nmap. This might help you get your system configured more quickly.

Yes there will. We will provide an update script that will migrate the configuration database to the new updated version. You can also save your nagios configuration files and reload them into new version. |
