Ranga Rangachari, President and CEO

Ranga Rangachari is President and CEO of Groundwork. Ranga has over 20 years of experience in sales, marketing and general management for software companies. Prior to joining GroundWork in July 2005, Ranga was CEO and founder of Invio Software, a leading provider of software to automate and control enterprise data storage operations. Invio's leading edge technology was licensed by enterprise software vendors including BMC Software and Veritas Software. The company was acquired by Veritas in July 2004 and is an integral part of Veritas' Utility Computing Strategy.

Previously, Rangachari spent 11 years at Legato Systems, a leader in enterprise storage management acquired by EMC in 2003. During his 11 year tenure, Rangachari held various senior management positions in sales, product management and strategic planning. As Vice President and General Manager of Intercontinental Sales, Rangachari increased Legato Systems' revenue from Asia Pacific, Japan and Latin America by over 300 percent in less than 2 years. Earlier in his career, Ranga served in senior product management roles at Sun Microsystems.

Rangachari holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a M.S. in Industrial and Operational Management.

 

Robert Fanini, Founder

Robert Fanini is the Founder of GroundWork. Fanini brings more than 20 years of operational experience in sales, marketing, business development and management. He has a strong track record of creating and growing successful technology companies, having founded several including Capital Technologies, a systems administration consulting company; Foglight Software, a systems performance management software company; SiteROCK, a provider of remote monitoring and management services; SiteROCK KK, the first remote manage service provider in Japan; and CapTech Partners, LLC., a company formed to provide seed capital as well as consulting to promising technology ventures.

In the role of CEO over the last eight years, Fanini has closed over $50 million in private equity and has created over $300 million in company valuations. Fanini also serves on several corporate boards.

He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.

 

David Lilly, Founder and Chief Operations Officer

David Lilly is Co-Founder and COO of GroundWork, bringing more than 30 years of engineering and management experience. Prior to founding GroundWork, Lilly co-founded SiteROCK, a provider of remote monitoring and IT management services, and CapTech Partners, a company formed to provide seed capital and consulting to promising technology ventures. Previously, Lilly co-founded software companies concerned with supply chain optimization, image processing, and industrial automation.

Lilly began his career in the United States Navy, where he qualified as Chief Engineer for naval nuclear propulsion plants. He also led two emergency engineering teams at Three Mile Island.

Lilly holds an MBA from Rutgers University and a B.S. in International Relations from the United States Naval Academy.

 

Tony Barbagallo, Vice President of Marketing

Vice President of Marketing for GroundWork, Tony Barbagallo oversees product management, corporate and channel marketing, as well as the company's presence within the open source community.

Tony brings more than 20 years of strategic marketing and selling experience to GroundWork. He most recently served as Vice President of Marketing at EVault, a provider of online backup and recovery systems, with responsibility for strategic marketing and product management initiatives. Prior to that, Barbagallo was vice president of sales and marketing for Dantz Development where he oversaw the return of the company to profitability and subsequent acquisition by EMC. Previous to Dantz, Tony was group marketing manager at Microsoft, where he led the product marketing and partner alliance programs for the Windows CE operating system and tools. Tony came to Microsoft via the acquisition of VXtreme, a developer of streaming media technology, where he served as Vice President of Marketing. Tony has also held a variety of sales and marketing positions with Mentor Graphics, Wind River, Sun Microsystems and General Electric.

Tony holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from Syracuse University and has also completed the Stanford Executive Program at Stanford University.

 

Phil Bradley, Vice President of Sales

Phil Bradley is Vice President of Sales for GroundWork, bringing more than 20 years of sales and management experience. Bradley has a solid track record of designing effective sales strategies and building high impact sales teams for a number of successful technology companies. Prior to GroundWork, Bradley served as Vice President of Sales for nCircle, a provider of vulnerability management solutions, where he grew revenue by 200 percent. Previously, he was Vice President of Sales for Inktomi where he was responsible for developing the company’s Enterprise Search Business. Bradley has also held senior sales positions with Documentum, Odesta Systems and Wang Laboratories.

Bradley holds a B.A. in Liberal Arts from the University of Massachusetts and has completed the Executive Program at the University of New South Wales.
